Admittedly, the film year in the U.S. is not being well, at least so far. Something that is felt in Hollywood where nobody knows where 2009's Oscars will start sounding names but little by little in the race for Oscars. A safe bet, at least for the nomination, is Heath Ledger for his brilliant interpretation of "Joker" in the latest Batman. His death, admittedly, also exalted figure and personal tragedy is something that works well in the entertainment world. A little over four months ahead of the upcoming ceremony, some titles are beginning to stand slightly above the rest.
MOST CURRENT INFORMATION ON FORECASTING THE OSCAR WINNERS " And the Oscar goes to " NOMINADADOS LIST OF IN " 2009 Oscar Nominations "
In a year of sequels, the return to the first line, to date, decadent actor Mickey Rourke for his starring role in "The Wrestler" has a nostalgic point. But industry sounds more and more the name of Rourke as one of those who fight for the gold film in February.
Beyond Ledger and Rourke, the rest of the bets at this stage would be very risky. However, Brad Pitt, Leonardo DiCaprio, Will Smith, Frank Langella, Sean Penn, have their nomination choices. Pitt for "Curious Case of Benjamin Button," DiCaprio for his double in "Body of Lies" and "Revolutionary Road"-the first failed at the box office, see what happens with the second-Smith for his "Seven Pounds" , Langella for "Frost / Nixon" and Penn for "Milk."
I think too many famous names have to jump together ... still a surprise, pleasant wait.
Among the actresses, Meryl Streep was nominated again as postulates. While not my cup of tea, I can easily admit that strongly Streep arrives at the Oscars. 14-time nominee and two wins, a curriculum that speaks volumes about the character of the musical "Mamma Mia!" And the drama "Doubt." If there is a winning horse in Hollywood, this is Streep. Bet on seeing his name among the five chosen, especially for his performance in "Doubt."
Among the candidates in 2009 could find Angelina Jolie for "Changeling," Eastwood, but I must say, that from what I get, the film failed to meet expectations and generated a certain disinterest in the film. With more energy and shows Anne Hathaway "Rachel Getting Married". She is earning Hathaway integers in Hollywood and his name is promoted well these days. I refuse to believe that Keira Knightley will enter the race for his role in "The Duchess", but it certainly is in the pools. That is a period film help, usually well received in Hollywood.
Other competitors could be Nicole Kidman for "Australia", Kate Winslet (Revolutionary Road), Tilda Swinton (The Curious Case of Benjamin Button) and Emma Thompson (Brideshead Revisited)-I especially liked this last-
In the women, one should not dismiss any of the girls in "Vicky Cristina Barcelona" in any nomination. Penelope Cruz appears among those chosen so far as secondary. Their presence has won this year and whole legions of fans increases. In Hollywood there is talk that Cruz did in that movie be in line with his performance in "Volver", a highly acclaimed film here. We'll see what happens with the Spanish, which I think was better in "Elegy" by Isabel Coixet.
Another point, would not surprise me that after an election year sacase presidents have cut production. On the one hand "W." about the life of Bush and the director Oliver Stone and other "Frost / Nixon", which starts with more options.
Child care with the "Miracle at St. Anna," Spike Lee. An adorable Italian amid World War II that confuses a U.S. soldier with a black giant chocolate.
To end this Oscar advancement, consider the best films possible candidates:
- "The Curious Case of Benjamin Button". There are many expectations for this movie
- "The Changeling or Gran Torino," Clint Eastwood either come into play, for sure.
- "Frost / Nixon" policy after election year, good thing.
- "Australia" director Baz Luhrmann and Nicole Kidman proved in the past that are a machine to get nominations
- "The Wrestler", which hits backed by international awards
- "Milk", all I've heard is good reviews so far.
- "The Dark Knight," the latest Batman, perhaps the most "mainstream" of all but their results at the box office and the compliments that has accumulated throughout the year are sufficient grounds for inclusion in the list.
- "Doubt" with Meryl Streep you know ...
- "Revolutionary Road", the return of the couple's film Titanic DiCaprio and Winslet could have your hook.
Note: the year of the resurrection of Robert Downey Jr. could be incorporated into the Oscars, although his "Iron Man" does not deserve it and your other production of "The Soloist" was finally postponed to March 2009.
A film expected and seems to also have to hope for is "The Road" with Vigo Mortensen. They're announcing a possible delay for the next year. We'll see. An apocalyptic title looks good.

and what happens to "the reader", the new director of "hours" and "Billy Elliot"?? I sincerely more likely than the bloated "the dark knight." Okay, I saw their opening and I liked it, but no big deal. Q I think Ledger will get nominated for a bunch of applications and techniques, but I doubt that's included in Guin, director and film.

I think like Victor, where The reader? It is a very promising film. And this year will be the great triumph of Kate Winslet for Revolutionary Road either or The Reader.

Folks, I appreciate the comments on The Reader. But when I got the post, the movie still was not in the pools of people from Hollywood. In the November 12 update yes it is, but neither seems to have a host so overwhelming excitement generated. Winslet and Ledger will be the winners of the Oscars ... on today has all the earmarks. We will see.

Hi folks, I think it would have more than deserved the Oscar for Heath the Joker. All who saw it have to admit that is the best of the series and the movie he eats. Beyond death and they all say that the figure was increased by this fact, I think years later is going to keep remembering this characterization, then I do not see why not give them the recognition they deserve for us to shake the knight of the night.

Friend Victor, I have to admit you're right in your comments about the reader, is a good movie but do not argue with your assessment of The Dark Knight, it is unlikely it can not deny that this film has a script and characters dizzying well structured with a director who was at the height of the commitment that was presented and doing justice to a comic that was already being abused by another director (know what), I think that beyond Ledger's death if he wins or not their interpretation, this film deserves to be among Best Screenplay, Best Director, and why not? Best Picture, and I say this without encouragement of fanaticism, but as a lover of good cinema. Thank you.
