World Championship Formula 1 2009
The Formula 1 season gears up, a championship that comes with important changes that viewers have to get used. The most obvious is the demise of the Honda team that went on sale the team with an excuse of the crisis. Finally, after many rumors and doubts, who was team manager Ross Brawn acquired the property and in record time tuned to Brawn GP, which will replace the Nippon mark in the championship. That keeps the ten teams on track and the 20 contenders. Only one withdrawal, the British driver David Coulthard, who will be replaced by midfielder Sebastien Vettel Red Bull driver, last season's revelation. This in turn will be relieved at Toro Rosso for the only newcomer in the category, Sebastien Buomi, who along with his teammate Sebastien Bourdais completed the hat trick by Sebastiano on the grid.
For its part, the International Automobile Federation (FIA) of the regulations changed to
favor the reduction of costs in favor of research and development of more reliable and durable components. This means among other things that drivers can not change cars, but if the chassis, in case of collision, which only have 8 engines available for one season and gear every 4 races. The teams will have more days of tests that belong to each grand prix, to save on travel, tires and gasoline. Another rule that sought to change the governing body of racing was the scoring system which would decide the champion, but repeated criticism of drivers, teams and experts were correct to the FIA and, at least for this year, nothing will change.
With respect to technical change is expected to greatly help the spectacular return in the race that had been lost in recent years, benefiting the strategy and calculations. On the one hand, some important changes in the aerodynamics, which return to the car a cleaner look, make the cars would be drawn closer to each other in order to facilitate overtaking, something almost forgotten today. The slick tires or slicks will offset the loss of aerodynamic grip, but require the teams to relocate the weights to avoid excessive wheel wear. The star of the new list will be the KERS (Kinetic Energy Revoery System) or retrieval system kinetic energy. With their appearance, the cars come in green fashion, reusing energy that is wasted in each braking. This year will be optional for teams, but theoretically use to their advantage, allowing use that stored energy to slightly increase the engine power. It remains to be seen as work.
As for the title contenders, this year is likely to be more open in that sense, the cars are very close and the drivers have not changed from last year. Teams like Ferrari, McLaren, BMW and Renault are favorites, but the new Brawn GP has surprised everyone in the tests performed so far to get the best of times. Toyota, Williams and Red Bull also seem capable of winning the World Cup but, at least some career and become active participants in the championship. As usual Toro Rosso and Force India are only a small showcase for pilots and engineers eager to improve capacity to excel. Suffice Vettel's example whose victory last year with Toro Rosso won the competitive springboard to Red Bull.
Another year, Ecclestone and Mosley will launch this machine to make money in Melbourne, Australia (26-29 March). Let the circus begin.
